Kirkby Overblow Dramatic Society

In 1981 a group of enthusiastic amateur actors got together to launch KODS. The first production was ‘And Then There Were None’ by Agatha Christie. Since then a rich and varied diet of drama has been performed by the society.

The first production was at Sicklinghall’s Long Memorial Hall on a stage built over a snooker table. In 2010 we moved to our current home at All Saints’ Church, Kirkby Overblow. Here, in a beautiful building, we have permanent and professional lighting, sound and special effects equipment.

In 2014 KODS again broke new ground with the staging of Bite-Sized Shakespear, one of the events in the Kirkby Overblow Summer Arts Festival. Twenty experienced actors and newcomers contributed to a memorable cultural experience. In the 2017 KO Summer Arts Festival KODS presented a review ‘The Best of British’.
